The German flagged M/V Bavaria arrived in Duluth Wednesday evening, August 26, 1999. Above, on Thursday, she is discharging the final pieces of a 59 piece cargo of pipeline equipment which was manufactured by Nuovo Pignone, Florence, Italy (a subsidiary of GE). The last two pieces each weighed 87 gross tons. The consignee is TransCanada Transmission, Calgary, AB. The forwarder is Schenker, Calgary, AB. The cargo will move by truck from Duluth to destinations in Canada, either via Mullen Trucking/Premay Equipment direct or, in the case of the two large pieces, via Kirscher Transport to the Canadian border, Mullen Trucking/Premay Equipment beyond.
