The Dutch flagged Marinette arrived in Duluth on April 29, 2002 to discharge lumber from Germany
 
The Marinette brought in about 3,600,200 board feet of lumber manufactured in Germany for distribution to Upper Midwest outlets by Aitkin-based Lakes States Lumber.

The lumber is produced by Klausner Holz Thuringen of Friesau, Germany, from timber harvested from certified sustainable forests, where less timber is harvested than grown.
