The Umiavut arrived Thursday morning, June 14th, 2007.
The Dutch flagged Umiavut arrived with wind turbine parts for 32 wind turbines being built on a wind farm in Iowa. Built by Gamesa, they were loaded onto the ship in Spain. At the Port Terminal, longshoremen are discharging the pieces onto trailer trucks which are moving them to storage space elsewhere at the Port Terminal. Gamesa will be sending two more ships here to complete the wind farm in Iowa and another wind farm in Illinois. Lake Superior Warehousing was contracted to discharge the M/V Umiavut by Alliance International Forwarders, Inc., Houston, TX.
